Night, the city drowns in fog,
The buildings wrapped in clouds,
Like furs on austere giants,
And we, stroll along the roofs,
And trow our curses off,
Our faces stained and happy.
And I can hear you laughing,
As the fall like dominos,
And the words we keep locked up,
Are left to grow.
As the moon grows darker,
All the Gods walk free,
Let's stitch the work back up,
While everyone sleeps.
We trace their footsteps,
Like shadows in the rain,
Until the sun comes up,
And burns it all away.
Wake up in pieces,
Thoughts, dreams and questions,
They're scattered like litter,
Scattered like litter,
I slowly collect them,
Puzzle piece answers,
They're crammed into my head,
Some kind of pattern,
I know I'll miss this,
Always miss something,
The smells stick like honey,
Honey for heartbeats,
The city is waking,
Blood runs beneath us,
And I feel the heartbeat,
I feel the heartbeat now.
