The roads may not lay down before you
The paths may widen and twist
But just have faith that being alive is good reason to exist.
And don't you fret and don't you worry
There's no such thing as regret
If you stumble and fall on this journey
At least it's progress towards the end.
If I could have it my way,
We'd be lying side by side,
The stones above our heads,
Will tell of where we hide
In death
And the progress that we make
From the lonesome trails of life
That missing piece of the puzzle turns over with the hands of time.
We're laying out at night, staring at the sky,
Those stars all burned out well before we were alive.
With no amount of certainty and certainly less time
Let's do what makes us happy so we can smile when we die.
