A million white flowers in a field in the skynSeemed to spell out a greeting as the children flew bynA guard in a chariot of silver and goldnGave the children all tickets, then the story he toldnOf a time in the future that was sunshine and flowersnAnd the children grew sleepy in the sky's white towersnThey dreamed of the story that the guard had displayednThey saw all the wonders, tiny minds were amazednThey saw candy forests and dragons that breathed firenOn all that was evil in the misty mirennThey came to the village where the turtles in cavesnMade pies for the people and the lemonadenThe people lived out by the sea and each daynThe seagulls would wake them as they passed on their waynThe people were kindly, they would sing to the skynAnd each bright new morning, the sun shone from their eyesnThe children passed over and all the people could seenAs they dived from the sky to the treacle seanThey bathed on the white sand, minutes turned into hoursnAnd the children all giggled and gave each other flowersnnThe King from his castle came down to the seanAnd he spoke to the children so patientlynHe gave them small presents and bid them farewellnAnd the children unwrapped them, tiny silver bellsnTheir tinkling floated across the island with easenAnd it came back toward them on the perfume breezenThey smiled at the tinkling, they gazed at the sunnAnd they smiled at each other, pretty little onesnA beautiful white horse came down to the seanAnd the children all climbed up as he knelt on one kneennThey rode through the valleys and high over hillsnAnd they laughed oh so loudly, their fear to killnThey came to a lakeside of deep velvet and greennAnd they all stared in wonder at its beauty serenenThey climbed from the white horse, they watch as it goesnAs they stood by the green lake for to kiss their toesnA boat in the distance was suddenly therenWaiting to take the children to anywherenThe porcupine captain said that he didn't mindnIn his coat of black needles, he looked very kindnnHis crew were six rabbits with fluffy white earsnAnd the children all stroked them and lost all their fearsnThey sailed through the sunshine, across the green lakenAnd they drank lemonade and they ate ice-cream cakenThey landed in a dark cave as the boat disappearednAnd they all stood in darkness, through the shadows they peerednBut out of the blackness shone diamonds so brightnTheir tiny white hands shielded eyes from the lightnIn a pool of quicksilver stood Neptune so wisenAnd pearls were his white teeth, bright diamonds his eyesnnHe spoke to the children in a voice of velvetnAnd he beckoned them to him, in a circle they satnHe told of sky island and of his magic cavenAnd magic pink seashells to the children he gavenThey listened intently as the music came farnFrom the magic pink seashells and nobody talkednBut Neptune had vanished when they lifted their eyesnSo they walked from the cave as two kingfishers criednIn the bright shiny sunlight, they got down on one kneenThey listened to the sea shells of the magical seannBut the day grew much darker, so they climbed on the breezenAnd they floated to the village, and the people were pleasednTo see them so happy with their tinkling bellsnAnd the people all listened to the musical shellsnBut the children were so sad, the time had come to leavenSo the people waved goodbye and begged them to believenOf the wonders they had seen in the island of the skynAnd the children said they would and away they did flynThrough the white clouds of no time till forever it seemsnAnd the children stayed children and they lived in their dreams
