England
Ghost Mice

We got off the plane in the cold, cold rainnLost track of the hour, lost track of the daynWe were very far away from anywhere we'd been beforennWe got on a bus and we went to the citynGot off at a stop because we liked the namenWe were in for an adventurenAnd that's all we knew for surennAnd we walked until we couldn't walk no morenJet lag and sore feet led us to the doornOf an expensive noisy bednWhere we could rest our heavy headsnnWe slept away the rest of the daynAnd well into the nightnAnd we woke up with a hunger for lifenWell before the sun risednnWe didn't have money to ride the undergroundnSo we walked the miles and miles of this townnWhen night fell like a rock we realized nWe were never gonna find a patch of open groundnnAnd the rain was comin' downnAnd the trains were shuttin' downnWe were worn out, wet and lost nThere was no shelter to be foundnnWe spent over a week of our budgetnOn a taxi and a bednAnd we made plans at night to escapenThis expensive wonderlandnnWe would set out for the wildnWe would see what was beyondnWe would sleep above the soil nAnd we would travel by our thumbsnnAnd written above my hostel bednIn black marker it saidnThere's a lightnAnd it never goes outnnWe didn't have a clue what we were doin'nWe didn't even know where we wanted to gonThe next day we took the tube all the waynOut to the end of the linennIt took us five hours to find a place to standnWe stuck out our thumbs, we raised our handsnIt was rainin' hard again nBut we were not surprisednnNo one wants to pick you upnWhen you're soakin' wetnIt was hard not havin' second thoughtsnAbout goin' on this tripnnAnd we ate the rest of our hostel breadnUnder a dark, damp underpassnWe watched the cars go pastnThe sun was sinking fastnnBut salvation came at lastnIn a little blue hatchback nAnd he took us a few miles down the roadnnThe day was almost overnIt was hard not to give innWe had made it outta the citynWe were thinkin' about givin' up and settin' up our tentnnBut a Jeep pulled over thennAnd he told us to get innHe said his name was Nick nRight away he felt just like a friendnnAnd he took us to some landnWhere some people live on busesnInvited us to stay the nightnAnd we could not refusennWe got a bus of our own nAnd it had a soft, warm bednWe built a little firenAnd we dried our soaking shoesnnAnd we slept, yeah we sleptnJust like little babiesnnThe next day at Stonehenge nWe couldn't afford to get innWe thought it would be free, nWe were surprised to see the fencennThis day would set the themenOf this trip for you and menWe could pay to see the sights of EuropenOr we could choose to eatnnAnd we pressed on to an old Roman citynAnd we made it before nightnWe broke down and bought some friesnJust so we could get dry nnAnd curse the sky, curse the sky, curse the skynIt rains all the timennWe found a spot to pitch our tentnIt was our first night in it nThe rain soaked in, the ground was coldnIt sank into my bonesnnAnd we decided that it was way too coldnTo keep goin' the way we had planned to gonAnd that night we agreed that we would turn aroundnWe'd head for warmer ground, we'd start makin' our way southnnOh you can't get lost if you've got no place to gonYou can't take a wrong turn if you're not on your way homenAnd we realized just how free we really were
