mold and caste their golden calves

From allah to aristocrats

gods in all forms, shapes,

sizes and formats

I see my own skeletons

under the floor boards

gods I used to mess with

adore, caress with

and still feel the allure

from their corpses

knocking at my new man's closet

but the menu done changed

And neither are the gods

that I was serving in the audience

it only clogs the human conscious

and the ability to process the obvious

No man is god

and neither are his products

But the pile of the objects

we compile in the firepit

to mold and make monsters

is preposterous

Throw a crown on it

call it divine

and make men puppets

God's prints all around us

But at the core of it

we want the praise

which is opposite of giving it

Think a 'bit

Then tell me young lord

who really is the hypocrite?

Or the fact that God proves himself

in all nature's specs

with or without your recollection

diligence so work can often

we instantly seek more praise

constantly craving sips

of compliments carving

our confidence

but its all meaningless

intravenously feeding us

this poison that keeps leading us

down this deadly path

where conceit and deceit meet

and sin creeps in,.....

so we begin to sing the same

songs that the not so strong

saints sang

Standing around babbling on

Brick by brick building a tower

of babel around the borders

of Babylon, making us believe

that were bigger than what

we really are when

all we are is dust

Trust that God is a jealous God

with every right to deal with us.

but because God is all powerful

and gracious instead of

devouring us and crushing us

he tears down those tall towers

to save us
